En Route to Taaffes

From the moment you reach the Carlingford road from the M1 motorway, your 5 star journey starts.

Within a minute of travelling this scenic road, you will pass the Ballymascanlon House Hotel – a luxurious 4 star hotel steeped in history & boasts its own 18 hole parkland course & its very own 4000 years old Dolmen ‘Proleek Stone’!

As you continue your journey towards medieval Carlingford, you will see one of Irelands most famous pubs – Fitzpatricks Bar & restaurant – Winners of countless awards & known for his amazing displays at Christmas & Halloween.

Also on this road is Martins of Riverstown, a pub best known for its Irish Whiskey Tasting tours.

Keeping the Cooley mountains on your left, you will then meet the turn for the historical Carlingford village. Once you take this turn you will be in awe at the beauty in front of you that is the famous Slieve Foye mountain, rolling into the sea. The scenery along this coastal road is truly breathtaking!

As you enter the village you will see the modern & very popular ‘Four Seasons Hotel’ – a very popular wedding venue.
